Christmas disaster
When I started opening presents, I opened my presents from Uncle Craig and Auntie Anne. I was very excited when I opened a DSI game (Star Wars) and Lightsaber styluses. I looked at my mom because she knew that what I really wanted for Christmas was a DSI XL, but when I looked at her she looked really sad. She said sorry, that Uncle Craig and Aunt Anne didn't know that I wasn't getting one. Mom and Dad were very generous and kind and gave me several wonderful gifts. When I opened my last gift, it was a box of lentils. I was very disappointed. I tried to hide my disappointment as mom explained that she felt bad when we ran out of lentils because she knew I loved them (she didn't realize that I'm kind of sick of them nowdays.) Then I remembered that she had tricked Rachel by hiding her hair curler thing in a different box, so I got excited again and just knew there was something else in the box. Well, when I tried to open it my mom said that I couldn't. First there was a little note hanging on the tree for me and one for Rachel. They were hiding behind the ornaments with our pictures on them. My note told me to go to my bunk bed and look on the top bed. There was a DSI XL package! I was so excited!! That's what I wanted more than anything. Then Mom let me open the lentil box--it had DSI games in it. I was so excited to open the package and get to my new DSI. Imagine my disappointment when I opened it and there was only a carrying case and a power cord and no DSI XL. You should've seen my mom's face. It was a very bad moment. Mom looked at the package closely and saw a little green circle about the size of a quarter saying that you had to get the actual DSI XL at the cash register. She is still freaking out and since yesterday was Christmas and today is Sunday, we have to wait until tomorrow to go to Costco. Mom says that they were all sold out of DSI XL's a month ago. She was so proud of herself for getting one. Ha, ha. They better have one there tomorrow, waiting at the cash register! I'm going to go with her and beg them to find it and explain how disappointed I was and how excited I am. Dad keeps talking about returning his gifts just in case we have to buy another one., so I know I'm going to get one.

Oh, I'm so sorry Nathan! I am the one that told your Mom that they had them at Costco. If they don't have it I'm sure that they will have to find one for you. Good thing you have such a great sense of humor and will love it even more when you actually get it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a crazy story! Sorry you have to wait to get it. I hope it all works out when you go to Costco.
ReplyDeleteSo Nate, how did it all work out? Are you loving your DSIXL?
ReplyDeleteYes! Thank you. It can take pictures and go on the Internet. You can change the pictures and make them all crazy. I'll bring it tonight so you can see it.
